The name Koolaburra comes from a combination of Australian Aboriginal words meaning kangaroo (Koola) and stone (burra). So literally, Koolaburra means kangaroo stone. Coincidentally, there is also an Aboriginal tribe in Queensland with the same name.

There are some differences between Koolaburra & other brands like UGG Australia, who actually makes some of their products in China, but when it all comes down to it, they are very similar. This braid can be found on the Excalibur AND Classic Tall Boots. The Classic Koolaburra soles also differ from most other sheepskin boots in that the classic EVA sole is thinner at the toes and thicker at the heel, giving a slightly more classy look and feel to the boot. The outline of the classic sole is also shaped like the outline of a foot. The UGG sole is on the left, and has a more rounded shape.
